The Inukshuk symbolizes safety, hope and friendship. The also represent team work which is why it was used as the symbol of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. These stone sculptures are placed throughout the Arctic acting as helpers to the Inuit. They are an important point of reference, a marker for hunting grounds and denote a food cache.
