The owl is significant to Inuit culture and spirituality. A source of luck, guidance and wisdom, some Inuit believe that the owl safely shepherds the spirits of the dead to the afterworld.
The Inukshuk symbolizes safety, hope and friendship. The also represent team work which is why it was used as the symbol of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. These stone sculptures are placed throughout the Arctic acting as helpers to the Inuit. They are an important point of reference, a marker for hunting grounds and denote a food cache.
