Theresa Ishalook

One original wall hanging by Inuit artist Theresa Ishalook. One felt and beaded tapestry of everyday Inuit life.

Theresa Ishalook currently resides in Arviat with her family. This Inuit community consisting of some 1500 people is located on the west shore of the Hudson’s Bay in Nunavut.

In her work, she combines embroidery and beadwork to create intimate scenes of daily life.

Aside from her remarkable embroidery, Ishalook values her community, of which she is an integral part.
