Born in the First Nation Reserve, British Columbia

Neil Baker is a band member of the Squamish First Nation Reserve. He is from the Coast Salish blood line.

He is a self taught carver and artist. Neil Baker has learned a great deal about his culture by listening to his elders telling their stories and traditions, then applying that knowledge on to the carvings he creates.
