Emataluk Saggiak

One original hand-carved sculpture by Inuit artist, Emataluk Saggiak. One walrus carved out of white marble.

Born December 23, 1955 (Cape Dorset, Nunavut)

Born in the territory of Nunavut, Emataluk Saggiak is the son of two artists, Lizzie and Saggiak Saggiak. Emataluk began sculpting in the early 1970s and credits his father, Saggiak Saggiak, as a significant influence on his art. In 2002, Emataluk worked as an engraver on the Cape Dorset annual print release.
